Thinking of My Mom

Mom, I never, ever, ever, ever, ever truly understood how hard you worked till I became a mother myself. Sigh.  I had no idea.  You always said "Just you wait and see" and I though you were full of it. When I went off to school every day, I honestly thought you just goofed off.  I had no idea what you did for us and I took it for granted.  You were such a hard worker and I can't even begin to tell you how much it meant to walk into the door from school and know you were there waiting for us.  I should've known those dishes didn't wash themselves and we didn't have a magic laundry machine that gathered it all up, washed, and put it all away.  It was YOU!  You made it a home for us.

My mom and I, 2002
Thank you, Mom

So sweet! My Mom worked 2 jobs usually and I did all of those things in our house--from the time I was 10. But it's part of what makes me a good Mom now and she taught me that! Lovely post--thanks for sharing!
