Cute Chicks!

Yeah, I know... the title of this blog threw you off. But these are my cute little chicks. LOL! They are only a few days old and I'm hoping for some good laying hens. There is a fifty-fifty chance though some could be roosters. If they are we will trade the roosters back for hens. It's so hard to tell at this age. We shall see. I got one that lays small eggs but a lot of them, four good laying ones, and one that's great with kids and so cute. :) So we'll have 9 chickens total now. That is good for me. Right now I only get about an egg every other day because I have only one young laying hen. The other isn't laying yet. Those ones are still only 6 months old so it'll get a little better as they gets older. For now we are just have a fun time cuddling these cute ones. Oohhh! :D

BBQ with The Boss :D

We went to my husband's boss's house for a BBQ. They are the nicest family for sure. :D Oohhhh, I loved their pool.

Even more the...um... food. Ohhhh..... yum. I need to love food less though. I just really love deviled eggs and little yummy snacks here and there. :P I really need to have more parties at my house but I never think about it. I'm more on my toes though when I go to people's houses that have a pool with no fence. It's more scary for sure. It was easier to relax this time because either Charles or I were always sitting in pool to keep our eye on kids. You can never bee TOO safe. I love swimming and I love the sun. I'm such a summer girl. Maybe a twinge more towards spring though. The rain as been great and has been watering my new trees and my grass (and my weeds.. ha ha). I really need to pull those weeds. That'll take like half a day. I really need to do Weed and Feed. Oh joy! Yay.... I can't wait. Not. LOL.

Crazy, Crazy Times

Things have been very crazy lately for my family and I. My husband's job has been up and down. The engineering field has been very shaky these days. My Christian Blogging buddies, please pray that work comes in to my husband's company. He's got the world's greatest boss who is doing anything and everything to keep the company going. Thank you for your prayers!

"Nothinnnngg, Mom!"

Today I was supposed to be getting my two girls their picture. This is why I'm gonna put it off for a week.
Yesterday I woke up to a peculiar smell coming from the girl's room. It was really, really strong! I realized what it was. Ivy (my 3 year old) had gotten into the baby's A&D Ointment, which is really vaseline. She wiped it everyone. All over her own hair, over Ashley's head, just everywhere! I right away took them into the bath tub but the water just ran right over them because the vaseline serves for that purpose! Ha ha! So, Ivy's hair looks incredibly stringy even though I shampooed it. My mom said to try dish soap because it's a degreaser so I'm gonna try that today. Ivy's hair looks like it hasn't been washed in a month because it looks like straw. LOL. In this pic, Ashley's hair is flat against her head because of the vaseline but you can't really tell.
NEVER TRUST A GIRL WHEN YOU SAY, "Honey, what are you doing?" AND SHE ANSWERS "Nothinnnnggg!" That should make you run to go see real fast if it really is nothing!

Extremely Strange Death Wish

Dead man stands throughout 3-day wake

This might be hard for some people to see so please don't go see this article if you think it might really bother you.

I thought this to be strange. Very strange. I've thought about what I would want if I died. I would want for my pastor to share Christ with everyone there. What would people remember me as? A faithful Christian, good mom? Or someone who never made real stands on anything. Was afraid to say what was right or wrong because I was worried what people thought.

I've been shunned by people (even family) simply for sharing the bible with them. Someday I'll stand before God and give an account. Did I tell my beloved family about Christ, or was I afraid I wouldn't be invited to the next get together if I did? Was I afraid to tell my neighbor because she might not let her kids play with mine anymore? Ect. I decided that, in the end, I'd rather be thought of as someone who wasn't ashamed.

August 2007 Flashback!

Oh, this is my favorite time. I love to look back to see how much has changed in one year's time. So this month's flashback is August of 2007. Just one year ago! Ohhh, kids grow so fast!

Uh...Uh....Uh....

Oh man, Obama sucked in the last debate! This time they did it to where they asked each one the question but they don't let them hear each other's answers. Sooo, McCain did great but it was sooo obvious that Obama has way less experience. Yeah, I guess he couldn't wean anything from what McCain was saying because he couldn't hear what McCain was saying! LOL! Too funny. But.... from what I hear, Obama is supposed to bring "change" according to him. I've yet to find out what that is. Hopefully it doesn't have anything to do with all his middle eastern dealings he has that he's not supposed to be having.

Visiting With My Dad

I love it when my dad comes to visit. Ivy loves it too! She just wants all of her Papa's attention. When I gave my dad Ice Tea, he grabbed that big spoon and started to stir his tea with it (because there was no other spoon around) so I had to get a picture. LOL. My dad works real early in the morning so he gets off earlier in the day. So it's nice to be able to have him come visit around noon. That'll be changing though because his hours will be different so he can't come visit in the day anymore. Sniff.... Well, I'll get to visit with my mom sometimes so that's cool. I don't know why this video is so blurry. Hmmm... I need to start using my other video camera.

Happy Birthday To My Ryan!

Happy birthday my sweet 7 year old. Boy does time fly. You came only 12 months after your older brother. I had two babies! You were the little calm cuddlebug compared to your early-walker older brother. You just loved snuggles and you were the sweetest and easiest baby. To this day you have a heart of gold and care about others more than yourself. I'm so lucky to have you as my son. :)

Difference In Size Eggs

Here is a picture showing the difference between a store bought egg and the one my hens are laying. Little eggs! That is because they are only 5 months old. As they get bigger, the eggs will also. Hens can start laying anywhere from 5-8 months old. I'm not sure whether or not I want to allow them to hatch because they would be hatching in the cold season. Plus, I don't know if my hens will even sit on eggs. Some will and some won't.
Yes I have made some eggs! Scrambled! Ha ha! With chopped onions and shredded cheese. Yummm... Oh course the eggs are so little I have to use more of them. Ha ha.

Hen Finally Laid Eggs!

Yeah! I know! I've waited forever. It was in the tall grass in their chicken pen so I didn't

even notice it. There is about eight there. Sooo excited. I've waited 5 months. I was wondering why the rooster would run at me everytime I went in their chicken pen (not knowlingly) walking toward the eggs. So cute!

Arcade Fun!

We all went to our favorite arcade place and I didn't get a chance to blog about it. It was a couple of weeks ago. We just put some money on one Game card and I ran around putting them in the games for the kids. So between the four kids, I was getting some good cardio. Ha ha! Now that Ivy is 3 she is so ready to play games so here she is on a couple. It's so cute seeing the one where she has to stand on her tippy toes. LOL. The guitar one is totally cool and Chaz and I got to play in a karaoke one. Since the booth is soundproof, we were just singing at the top of our lungs! Ha ha! Charles said he could tell we were really loud but he couldn't hear. LOL. At church, I can't sing like that on the platform so it was my only chance. Like being in a concert! Ha ha! It was sooo cute seeing Kyle playing side by side racing with his dad. He was not tall enough so he had to look THROUGH the steering wheel to drive (like you see in picture on top. So funny!

Back To School!!!

My boys really, really wanted to go back to school this year. My third son especially. They love being around the kids, the playground, the teachers, all the great projects everyday. Oh, I can't forget! Kyle is so excited about the bus. He cried today when I went to pick him up for school (just for today) because he really, really wanted to ride the bus. So, as tradition, Charles gets the day off so he can see his five year old (Kyle) start Kindergarten for the first time. It's a Charter school so first and second grade are put together. So Chaz and Ryan get to be in the same class. Kyle is right next door. It is still so weird though having them gone all day like this. I only have two kids at home now. Weeeeird. What am I gonna do? Clean, organize? Wow, actually, I really do need to organize things this year. I mean, really organize. We'll see each year how it goes. One year they could homeschool, the next year maybe not. We shall see.

I was actually able to hear the ceiling fans today in my house. It was really strange. Usually I can't because it's always so loud around here. Hmmm... I'll have to get used to this. I miss my little guys.

On the Lake

Actually I did okay with having little sleep last time. :D BUT... since I've been doing an inventory all over the house and ridding of stuff like crazy, I've been up late every night. Last night I went to bed at 3:20am and had to get up at 6am because I was taking two of my boys to ride on a boat with my dad and I. So I think I slept like 2 1/2 hours. Hee hee. So I need to get back to work!

Can't Sleep

I mean, just look at the time I wrote this post. I just laid there in bed
and I couldn't sleep. So, I went into my boy's room, kissed their heads and prayed for each one. Then I went into their playroom and organized it. I made a donation bad of about 35 things and I threw out about 30 things. So, it looks really great in there. I went and looked at some Heath Ledger tributes online. Played Spider Solitaire. Now I'm blogging. Sheesh! My kids get up in like 4 hours. Sigh. Last night I kept waking up a lot just thinking things. Then I would go back to a light sleep just to wake up again. Argh! Oh, I know this picture on this blog doesn't match what I'm talking about. Hee hee. It's just a cute picture and I like to always add one.

Vista, My Love!

Let me explain more why I have fallen in love with the new Window's Vista. Let me count the ways.... Okay, just one for now. The Parental Controls! I get to set what ratings the kids can play for their games. I get to protect them from accidentally going to "naughty sites". And.... I get to set time limits. That's right! It doesn't matter what they are doing, they will be logged off the moment their time limit is over. Yes, my friend. It's even preset at what times they can play. If they try to get up at 7am and login, it's blocked. That is waaaaayyyyy cool. They have their own login. They don't know my login's password so they have no choice but to only login to theirs. Yeehaw. Of course I know how to bypass those darn passwords. But that's my secret "know how". Ha... ha... ha..... So if they ever figure it out and try to set one on me, I can bypass that sucker. Oh, Vista is so cool. Why did I wait SO long to get it?????

Happy Birthday To My Chaz!

Sunday, August 3rd, was my eldest child's birthday. It is also the day I became a mother! The day I held my first child in my hands. The day I said, "Oh my gosh, he's mine??" The day I realized, it's really not all about me. Okay, that took a little longer but believe me, I got it pretty quickly after that. So now he is eight! He was just so proud. He can't believe he is eight. Hee hee. I can't believe I'm 29! Wow! My last year in the twenties. Sniff....

Okay, where was I? Yeah, so for his birthday we met my parents at Makutu's Island (which is a huuuuuge indoor tree house basically) and stayed there in between church services. Chaz got blessed with lots of money from my parents for games. A few presents from us, money from Charles' parents. They had gotten all the boys one big gift (a trampoline) since all my boy's birthdays are in August. So that is pretty neat. They love it too. They got it early because their grandparents wanted them to have it for all summer. So, he got blessed all around! It was a good day! :D
*The pics are of Chaz with papa, one holding a present, and one with money. A pic of Kyle up in tree house. The other pics are of Ryan and I.

I Heart Vista!!!

I haven't been blogging much because my computer was soooo messed up. Not only was my tower broken and hardly holding up from being dropped, it also had viruses. ARgh! Sooo, we had to get a whole new system. Not a new computer because that would cost too much. So we bought Windows Vista and a new tower. Ohhhh, I love it. I don't know why people dog Vista because we have been having so much fun with it. It beats my old Windows XP anyday. By a thousand times! It's b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. Uh huh. I'm in love. So, I'll be blogging more now. Yeehaw!
