When Life Happens... Drink Coffee

I'm extremely tired as all heck.  Been gone since Friday (just Ivy and I), then gone on Sunday for church with visiting places in between, gone all Monday.  Then a family member showed up at my door 5:30am in horrible pain.  I woke up to hearing my dogs barking very loudly.  I thought it was odd that they'd be barking like that so early in the morning.  My husband woke me up to tell me it was a family member named Peter (name protected) at the door.  He works close by and all of a sudden pain hit his body like he couldn't believe.  It was another kidney stone.  Since I was so close he made it to my house barely.  By the time I let him in he was falling to the floor in pain.  I was exhausted but didn't care. We were gonna go to Urgent Care.  So I grabbed his keys, put him back in his car and drove him.
Normally I wouldn't be so exhausted but I asked my friend to spend the night the night before just so we could hang out and have fun.  We stayed up till 3:30 in the morning so I only had 2 hours of sleep.  We had so much fun though so it was worth it.  I had no idea though that anyone would be coming over early.

I felt soooo bad for him.  Because it was so early no one was in the waiting room.  I filled out all the paperwork for him and thankfully he was taken right away.  After he got into his gown I questioned the Dr in the hallway about what he was gonna do to at least relieve the pain. He gave him the same medicine I got when I had kidney stones and it's really strong and given by a shot.  Oh, what a relief for him!

The weird thing is that I NEVER ask Michele to spend the night.  Because she was there when Peter arrived, she was able to stay with my kids while I was gone.  What are the chances of that happening?  It was so wonderful to just be able to take care of him.  After he got his pain meds we had to go walking because that's the best thing to do for a kidney stone.  Every 4 hours his pain would hit hard until he took more meds.  I know what it feels like and it's easily comparable to having a baby.  I had them when I was pregnant with Caleb and was hospitalized for a week it was so bad.  They even had me in a cooling bed and put me to sleep for 6 days.  Kidney stones can also come with a kidney infection which is what I had. It's nothing to laugh at.  When his wife got back to take care of him, I went home.  By the time I got home at 4:30pm I just crashed in my bed.  Wow!  What a week!  Thank God Michele was at home with my babies.  I don't know what I would have done with her.

Being gone since Friday means my housework is up to my ears.  With mommy gone, the house fell apart really fast.  I haven't been the greatest blogger because of vacation and sick family.  Oh well, life happens!  Just glad I got home safe and sound and Peter is okay.  Now excuse me while I swim through the mess and try to find my vacuum.
