Difference In Size Eggs

Here is a picture showing the difference between a store bought egg and the one my hens are laying. Little eggs! That is because they are only 5 months old. As they get bigger, the eggs will also. Hens can start laying anywhere from 5-8 months old. I'm not sure whether or not I want to allow them to hatch because they would be hatching in the cold season. Plus, I don't know if my hens will even sit on eggs. Some will and some won't.
Yes I have made some eggs! Scrambled! Ha ha! With chopped onions and shredded cheese. Yummm... Oh course the eggs are so little I have to use more of them. Ha ha.

So tiny!! I had a hen lay a huge egg and I sent it to a lady and had her decorate it for me. I now have it in my china cabinet. It's beautiful! I want some chicken. :)

Hens will decide for them selves if they want to be mums by going broody, when they spend all their time just sitting

So, wait... If the hen sits on it, there's a chicken inside, and if not, you eat the egg?

I thought it was a fertilized/not fertilized issue.

??

I'm eating chicken babies??

In order to have chicks you have to have a rooster. The hen will sit on them without a rooster. When this happen with mine I bought some fake eggs and switched them. :)

When you eat an egg you are essentially eating her eggs. I hope that came out delicately enough.

Yeah! What Shannon said. I stated it better in a different post. Hens will sit on eggs regardless of whether there is a rooster or not. No baby chicks will come of it though if there is no rooster to fertilize the egg. The eggs I am eating are the hens eggs of course, as roosters only serve the purpose of fertilizing them. My hen does not seem interested though in sitting on them though. So for now, I'm having some good breakfast. Hee hee
