Well, I had *just* been considering turning S's car seat around, but I think I will put that off a bit longer. J is right at 35 pounds so must sit forward. :[
THANK YOU for posting this. I have heard of other stories with this particular injury that did not turn out as well. I had no idea that rear-facing was safer.

Wow that is just incredible. It makes sense but I would have NEVER thought about this when my kids were that age!
