Synopsis:
A talented young singer and aspiring songwriter’s Christian faith and family ties are tested when she defies her worship-pastor father and pursues pop-music stardom in GRACE UNPLUGGED, a moving and inspiring new film that explores the true meaning of success.

Grace Trey has just turned 18 and aspires to do more than sing in her church’s worship band, which is led by her father, Johnny Trey, a one-time pop star who gave up his life in secular music when he became a Christian. Grace longs to escape his shadow and make a name for herself singing songs about something other than God, but Johnny warns her that fame is not as glamorous as it looks and reminds her that serving and worshipping God with the talent she’s been given is a far more worthwhile goal.

When Johnny’s former manager, Frank “Mossy” Mostin shows up 20 years after the two parted ways to offer him another shot at the big time, Johnny declines the opportunity. But Grace takes it – without telling her parents. She records a cover version of her father’s old Top 10 hit, runs away to Los Angeles and, under Mossy’s guidance, begins to taste the kind of success she’s always dreamed of, landing on the charts herself, attracting the attention of the entertainment press, even dating a popular TV star.  But with each rung of the ladder she climbs, Grace feels pressure to compromise her Christian values, and her relationship with her parents gets further strained. Even as plans move forward for her to record a follow-up album, Grace learns not everyone who says they’re on her side really is. The one exception is Quentin, an intern at her record company and a fellow Christian who urges Grace to reassess her choices and put God first again in her life. Will everything she experiences lead her to reject her faith … or rediscover it?

Starring AJ Michalka, James Denton, Kevin Pollack, Shawnee Smith, Michael Welch, and Jamie Grace, GRACE UNPLUGGED arrives in theaters October 4 from Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. Inspired by a true story, GRACE UNPLUGGED is directed by Brad J. Silverman and produced by Russ Rice, the team behind NO GREATER LOVE.

Princess & The Pee Panty Review and Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.com
Little Ashley received one Princess & The Pee in the mail. She was so excited and loves the picture of the ducky princess sitting on the toilet. I need to get her more because she hates getting to only wear them one day and have to put in dirty hamper. When I wash her stuff, she ignores her other panties to find that one. Soooo cute.  Thankfully, you buy them in a set and the panty also comes with a book called The Princess & The Pea.  I'm telling you, little girls will LOVE this book and especially gets their minds geared towards learning to potty in the toilet.  But, in a fun way through a story!

The Princess & The Pee tells the story of a young princess named Tallie who can’t resist using her daddy’s name to get her way. She knows her actions are wrong, but no one dares defy her until one day The Pee shows up unannounced, embarrassing her at the Queen’s birthday ball. The Pee does not care who her daddy is, and he tells Tallie as much. Frustrated, she flees from the room. And as the town discusses her dilemma, Tallie is forced to face two aspects of toddlerhood – potty training and treating others with kindness and respect.  This is a great alternative to the usual potty training books out there.

If your daughter will be starting potty training soon, this would be the perfect gift for her to get her excited about it!  You can find it through QuackBack and buy a really cute set.  You can also find them on Facebook.

Winner is Shannon!

Little Angels DVD Review and Giveaway!!!

I'm super excited about this giveaway because not only are they giving away this DVD to a winner but 4 of them! So, better chances to win.

So, what is the giveaway for?  The most adorable series came out called Little Angels for preschoolers but I'm telling you, it's not limited to that age. Grace Hill Media sent me a copy of this and I had my kids sit down to tell me what they think.  The best testers are kids, right?  Okay, all ages of my kids loved it from 2 years old to 11 years old.  It's not just a silly movie to put on for your kids.  Each one has a moral lesson to be learned along with great songs based on the bible.  There are even songs Learning Letters (God's Love Goes from A to Z), Animals (God loves all His creatures).

The one we got to watched focused on the character quality of picking up after yourself (ahem...my kids needed that one) and being responsible.  The Lord only knew this is my biggest stress right now in my family.  It's so much more fun to have a subject like this put into a fun story rather than always hear it over and over from mom.

When it came down to the songs, it had my younger 3 singing right along with it.  They sang to a story in the bible and what a fun way to learn it!  This is going to be a DVD series so watch out for them!  Kids are gonna love them and so will parents with the lessons they come with.

Little Angels is a Christian educational DVD that Roma Downey (of Touched By an Angel) developed as her way of giving back to the Christian community.

Bloom Maternity: Fall Maternity Line Review and Giveaway

Winner announced!  It's Avital and I picked from random.org only one time!  Congrats!  Please let me know in the comments section what email I can write to and get your info.  :D

I'm wearing this SHIRT
Bloom Maternity sent me a super cute maternity top by Lilac Maternity.  It's designed to fit during all stages of your pregnancy and still look super cute after pregnancy!  It really is hard to invest in maternity clothes when you know that by the time you get pregnant again styles may have changed and so do seasons.  You can keep wearing this shirt as long as you want.  This site sells some really beautiful outfits.  I really love companies that offer free shipping like they do when you spend $25 or more.  Honestly, I don't like going to stores very much and do 80% of my shopping online.  Free shipping is always the kicker for me when looking for items online.

I want to show you this shirt post maternity to see what it looks like.  It's really a cute fit either way.  They offer lots of other styles and colors.  Whoa, I just noticed I put my outfit together the same way she did.  Hmmm... Smart lady.

My FAVORITE outfit is this one right here.  Can you say gorgeous?  I love the whole getup and and since I have everything but the shirt, I'm gonna look into completing the outfit.  You can find the shirt online HERE.  I LOVE it!

Product info:
BloomMaternity.net sells fashionable maternity clothing that can easily be worn during and after pregnancy. Some of the items that we carry are maternity dresses and plus-size maternity clothing for the expecting mother.  What we feel is the greatest thing about motherhood is our different body types and different styles. There is a great variety in our online store. Some great funky, trendy stuff, but always the basics. No matter what your size, you deserve to look and feel beautiful while your body is in Bloom — and beyond. We pride ourselves with our customer service and offer free shipping for items $25 or more.

We would like to provide a blogger with a maternity top that can be worn during and/or after pregnancy. We have sizes ranging from S-3X.

Bloom Maternity is giving away a $25 gift certificate so you can pick out anything you like on their site!  By the way, even if you are not pregnant, Christmas is coming and what an awesome gift card this would be for someone you love if they are!

The Trendy Boutique Watch Giveaway!

Petite Round Watch - Black (38332)
The Trendy Boutique sent me this GORGEOUS watch and I was really impressed when I put it on.  It's comfortable, doesn't pinch, it's sparkly but classy.  I usually avoid buying myself watches because of all the crazy things that happen to them while I'm working around the house.  I eventually stopped buying watches because it just cost too much to replace them.

This watch is only $18 and I'm excited about the low price being that Christmas is coming up.  I'm already beginning to think ahead about gift giving.  Ordering early gives me breathing room so I don't have to panic. WHAT'S EVEN BETTER?  Shopping online rather than having to get in those crazy stores during the biggest shopping season there is.  Last year I did all my shopping either online or Costco. Saves lots of hassle and keeps the season peaceful.  :D  By the way, The Trendy Boutique doesn't just have watches, they have lots of great products!  Lots of them you can put your own design on them.

Shipping is FREE on all watches! They have over 100 styles and colors and you can use coupon code VIRGINIA10 for 10% off.  All a really great deal to stock up!

This watch was featured on Oprah and in "The Blind Side".  So you can't go wrong with these watches and they're gorgeous.  The Trendy Boutique has many other styles and colors to choose from!

EVEN COOLER is she is giving one away!  You can have extra entries!

French Toast School Uniforms Giveaway!

360283_ABCMouse.com-Free Learning Activities-First Month Free-Click Here!

Wow, my kids look snazzy in their school uniform given by French Toast School Uniforms this last month.  As soon as I got them and put them up, my boys were quick to wear them.  I actually had to search for them in my massive amounts of laundry, wash, and find in the clean clothes just so I could take a picture of them in them.  Goodness.  They told me again today how comfortable the material is and I think they look really sharp.  There are just some uniforms that can look stiff or even some that are frumpy.  But these ones look really good on my boys. They really enjoyed modeling for you to see.  :D

Guess what?  They are giving away a uniform of your choice if you enter my contest. I'm gonna make it super easy. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is visit www.frenchtoast.com and tell me uniform you would like for your son or daughter in my comments section. (US only) Contest ended.

6 Ways to Save and Earn Money While You're At It

Because we're a family of eight we try to save money.  However, I would do this if I had one kid just because I love being frugal!  :)  Here are ways I try to save and earn money.

1. Swagbucks is a place where you can use their search engine like you normally would use to search a particular topic.  However, with this, you can earn points and I always use them to buy Amazon gift cards. Every time I'm in need of something, I will use the Amazon gift cards to purchase it rather than having to spend my own cash.

2. Coupon Sense helps me to save big because it tells me where all the sales are and which coupons I can use to save BIG.  I love it!  There is a monthly subscribing fee but because it tells me where in the valley to get free stuff and at least saves me half off my grocery bill, it's completely worth the $15 a month.  Please use my referral code if you decide to sign up.  I LOVE this site.  Referral code: 2017636

3. Product reviewing through Tomoson was introduced to me by Ellen Ross.  It's been a big blessing to my family for obvious reasons.  I get to receive some really neat products of my choosing and all I have to do is talk about it on my blog.  It's a win-win for them and for me.

4. The reason I decided to try Google Adsense is because I had been looking into finding a part job during the night every since we were greatly affected by the economy. My heart was broken so I tried to think of another way for me to stay home.  Since putting the ads on my blog, I can get a monthly check from Google that has really helped us.

5. I never buy clothes at full retail value. The last time I needed to go clothes shopping, I waited till major sales were happening.  My last shopping event, and I don't do it very often, was at The Limited. They were having 50% off in almost the whole store.  Then they gave me another 50% off at the register.  I ended paying $6 per shirt that were originally $35-50!  That's how I shop.  If no major sales are going on I find amazing stuff at Ross stores.  I'm picky though and won't just buy for the love of shopping.  I keep a list of needs and wants in my family organizer.  You're not saving if you're spending money just to spend it.

6. Making my Own Laundry Soap has saved me more money than I can imagine.  I haven't added it up but I know it's huge.  It cost me all of $3 to make and it last my size family for 8 months.  It's super easy so just go and check out my pics to see how simple it is to make it.  All you need is 3 items from the store, a sauce pan, and a bucket.

Here is a sneak peak:

The Slippery Slope

Have you ever made a  New Year's resolution, only to break it by the first week of January?  Somebody once said the road to hell is paved with good intentions.  The same might be so for tackling your new role as a father.  I'm reminded of a Saturday Evening Post article title, The Seven Ages of the Married Cold."  The essayists chronicled the typical progression of a husband's reaction to his wife's sickness. See if this sounds familiar:

The first year: "Sugar dumpling, I'm really worried about my baby girl.  You've got a bad sniffle, and there's no telling about these things with all this strep throat going around.  I'm putting you in the hospital this afternoon for a general checkup and a good rest.  I know the food's lousy, but I'll be bringing your meals in from Rosini's.  I've already got it all arranged with the floor superintendent.

The second year: "Listen, darling, I don't like the sound of that cough.  I called Doc Miller and asked him to rush over here.  Now you go to bed like a good girl, please?  Just for Papa."

The third year: "Maybe you'd better lie down, honey: nothing like a little rest when you feel lousy. I'll bring you something to eat.  have you got any canned soup?"

The fourth year: "Now look, dear, be sensible. After you've fed the kids, washed the dishes, and finished the floor, you'd better lie down."

The fifth year: "Why don't you take a couple of aspirin?"

The sixth year: "I wish you'd just gargle or something, instead of sitting around all evening barking like a seal!"

The seventh year: "For Pete's sake, stop sneezing!  Are you trying to give me pneumonia?"

Moody Publishers gave me two to give away!  This book is easy to read and hard to put down.  I know a first time dad will love it.

Eddie's wife is due in June!
I want to give one to someone I know, which is Eddie who will soon be a first time dad.  Congrats Eddie!  But I want to give one away on my blog also.  So if you know of anyone parenting for the first time, this would be a great gift.

Voda Swim Giveaway and Review *Contest Ended

*Maureen, you are the winner of the Voda swimsuit! Please contact me within 24 hours.

AAgh!  I'm so excited Voda Swim sent me one of their swimsuits to try.  Ahem, I'm a mom to 6 so I asked them if I could bypass trying a Push up bikini and just go for something close to a One Piece.  So I chose a Tankini where it's two piece but covers my stomach.  I chose this one also because the bottoms are full coverage in the back compared to the kind that go up really high.  You can adjust the sides with the ties.

The picture is the exact one I chose:

Sapphire Envy Push Up® Tankini & Adjustable Scoop
$120.00
  • End caps are 14K gold plated and are chlorine and salt water resistant
  • Body: nylon/spandex, lining: polyester/spandex
  • Fully lined
  • Top: ties at neck and back
  • Full coverage
  • Made in USA

When I tried it on I was super excited by the fit and how much more confident I feel in it.  Believe it or not there is no wire and you don't need one!  It also has a lift support on the top so the picture with the I'm showing isn't lying about that.  It's push up swimwear that really works.  I love these swimsuites and had a hard time choosing between some of the other one pieces.

*Product Info:
Voda Swim’s Envy Push Up Bikinis are designed to visually increase bust size by one to two cup sizes. In addition, that patent-pending Envy Push Up pad retains less than a tablespoon of water, helping the tops to retain their extraordinary fit, even when wet.  Priced between $110-$132, Voda Swim bikinis are available at www.vodaswim.com.

BabyBond Nursing Giveaway!!!

Since I am not nursing, BabyBond sent my friend the BabyBond nursing sash to review.  After a couple of weeks of using the product, this what Heather had to say about it.  :)

"I have really enjoyed using the baby bond. I like it because, it covers ME and not my baby. He is an active little one and doesn't care much for being covered with a traditional nursing cover. It is usually a constant struggle to keep myself decent! That's where the baby bond was different. I remained modest and covered and Benjamin could look around. I love the Baby bond! I only wish I had gotten it sooner."

I would have loved something like this also when I was nursing.  I'd be sitting the mall and the baby would sometimes kick the covers off since it was draped over him.  I always had to make sure in the winter that my baby was still getting air through the thicker blanket.  This way, with BabyBond, you can nurse without covering your baby.

Information about the product

BabyBond nursing sash covers mom, not her baby. Please visit our website for detailed description or view our products online at Amazon.  BabyBond Original is worn with shirts that are accessible to nurse from the top and has a built-in burpcloth and matching pouch storage pouch. BabyBond Flex is worn with shirts that are accessible to nurse from the top and has a removable burpcloth and matching pouch storage pouch. BabyBond Couture is adjustable and can be worn with shirts that are accessible to nurse from the top or the bottom. It rolls up into itself to store. BabyBond is machine washable, 100% cotton, and made in USA.

Guess what?  BabyBond is giving one away to one of my lucky readers.  It's easy to win!  Contest Ends April 29 at 3pm.

Sparkle Farms Bloomer Shorts Giveaway! Contest Ended

The winner is DINA!!!

March 4th is my fifth Blogoversary!  I've enjoyed blogging these past five years so to celebrate, lets do a giveaway!

Even before I had any girls, I used to realize how many moms didn't realize their little girls' were showing their undies while playing.  Like on the playground, sitting in circle time in the classroom, spinning like my girls do when they are playing ballerina.  I always said "When I have a daughter, I'm gonna have to buy some sort of bloomers for them to keep them modest." Well, I don't know if you've noticed, those are hard to find.

Sparkle Farms sent me the cutest little bloomer shorts that they can put under their dresses while playing. Since my little princesses wear skirts and dresses quite often, these are perfect.  I've tried putting shorts under their dresses but since they don't fit snugly around the leg, it doesn't always cover their little undies.

**********

Why Sparkle Farms bloomer shorts rock:

  • 95% cotton makes the bloomers breathable and comfortable
  • 5% spandex helps the bloomers maintain their shape
  • Form-fitting style that won't show up under skirts and dresses
  • Hygenic (picture your daughter sitting in the sandbox)
  • Privacy - Private parts should be kept private
$25 per set or $12 each

************

So I tried the bloomers on my girls and they are wonderful!  They're breathable and machine washable.  They come in sizes 3-7. There is no annoying tag to make them uncomfortable either.   They can bounce, swing, play, spin, slide, hang upside down all they want and can keep their modesty also.

What's funny is when I was about to take a picture to show you her cute bloomers, she was sitting on the couch, snuggling her doll, completely unposed. This is a perfect example of a little girl just relaxing but not realizing how they are sitting.  Her little bloomers keep the outfit modest since her skirt came up unnoticed.

Anyhoo!  Sparkle Farms is giving away  a set of these and they come in a pack of 3!
